The Grace of God
by Ethan Morales

All right, good morning, boys and girls happy Sabbath. I hope you guys had a good week. We’re grateful that you guys are here attending church with us virtually. And we hope you’re excited for this week’s children’s story.

So this week, we’re going to talk about God’s grace. Now, if we look in the Bible, we can see that in Romans chapter eight, verse three, it says it is impossible to do what God’s standards demand because of the weakness our human nature has. But God sent His Son to have a human nature as sinners have and to pay for sin. That way God condemned sin in our corrupt nature. Now a lot of people in the The Christian faith will say that you’re saved by your good works. But no as this Bible verse just read, we are not saved by our good works, because we’re sinners, our good works will never be enough. So God sent His Son to give us the gift of salvation, we just have to accept it.

However, you’ll find that some Christians, you know, they’ve been Christians all their lives, they still sometimes don’t understand. And to illustrate that, I’m going to show you this, this drill. Now, I’m sure most of you have seen it, maybe some of you have even used it helped your parents or your dad, you know, drill some stuff. Now, when there’s two settings on a drill, there’s forward and reverse. Right now it’s in reverse. And if you guys have seen out in the field on your own, you’ll see that when you try to, when you have it in reverse, and you try to screw in a screw. I’m  pushing as hard….. As you can see, even though we had it in reverse, and we were pushing as hard as we can, it wasn’t going in. Now why is that? Because we have it all wrong. We have it in the wrong direction. Once we set it to the forward direction, as we just did, and we tried doing the same thing.

We can see that it went in. Now this is an illustration to show you that no matter how hard you try, your human nature’s always going to get the better of you. So that is why you have to do it the right way through God through the salvation that he gave. Alright boys and girls so don’t ever forget. Don’t ever rely on yourselves, rely on God. Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, thank you God for another day of life. I ask that you please be with these boys and girls. May you give them the strength and the wisdom that you have, Lord, Lord, even though we try not to rely on ourselves, Lord, help us to work as hard as we possibly can. And to have you by our side guiding us, Lord, we ask all these things Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

All right, boys and girls, you guys have been excellent listeners. Have a good week.
