Show Some Love
by Celene Melenciano

Good morning, boys and girls Happy Sabbath. I hope you guys are all happy and excited to be here today.

You know, today I want to talk to you about a very special day that’s coming up. It is Valentine’s Day. And you know for Valentine’s Day, what do we celebrate? We celebrate love, we celebrate our friends. And those people that are special to us, right? Sometimes, you know, it’s cool when you know you give out your Valentine’s Day cards, right? You choose the one you like for your classmates and you give them their cards. Maybe you take a box of chocolates for your teacher, and you have her you give them some people like to give out really cute Valentine’s Day balloons, usually mommy and daddy, or even you go ahead and get some flowers and give them to somebody that you love might be mommy might be Daddy might be grandma, maybe even your teacher, a very, very special friend or somebody that you really love, right. We also give these type of Valentine’s Day cards, they’re very cute, they have really cute things inside.

You know, it Valentine’s is not just about giving stuffing getting stuff. Valentine’s is about showing everybody how we love them. It is a special day that we put aside for this because during the week, we are so busy at work at school at home, maybe doing home or doing chores that we forget to tell people, our family members or friends how much we love them. So we put aside Valentine’s Day to let them know that, you know, my children. They’ve obviously as they’ve grown up, they have let me know that they love me by either telling me mommy, we love you, Mommy, I love you. Or by helping me out sometimes that’s their way of showing me they love me or making me food, or they’re just going somewhere with me. They’ve also given me Valentine’s Day cards, or you know, for any other occasion, they love to give me stuff and let me know how much they love me. When you’re when I got home from work, they had made a very special gift for me. They were still mailed to her pop, probably about 9, 10, 11. And they had got all their little money together from their allowances, whatnot. And when I got home, I had a bouquet of flowers. I had a beautiful little card. And I had a box of Ding Dongs because you know I love junk food, I love ding dongs and a bottle of Gatorade. They fought for me with their money. But however they could, something that they knew that I liked. And they did that to show me that they love me.

You don’t always have to buy stuff, you can make it. They’ve made me many pictures, they made me cards, even so much that, you know, I know they love me. And those are the things that we need to do for the people we love. Show them that we love them and tell them because it’s very nice to hear from others that they love you.

But you know, thinking of love from our parents, from our children, from our friends, and our grandparents, very special people in our life, we also have to think of God, God gives us the biggest love the most love, we can never understand how much he loves us. He loves you more than Mom and Dad, if you can believe that. He loves you more than your grandparents and everybody else. Because his love is so immense and so wonderful. And you know, he gives us everything we have, he gives us the air to breathe. He gives us the strength to walk, to do stuff to play, to laugh, even to be sad, you know, but he gives us everything. And we need to remember that the greatest love of all is God. So don’t forget that and hope that this week as you celebrate Valentine’s Day with your friends, and your family and everybody around you that you remember that it’s not just supposed to be one day a year that you’re supposed to show each other your love and how much you care for each other. It should be every day just like God shows us every day. How much he loves us. When you see the sun when you see the rain. When you see the animals out there your pets, the bird singing every time you open your eyes. Give thanks to God because it’s always him all around you telling you how much he loves you.

Now let’s go ahead and bow our heads. Let’s pray. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for all your love. Because in everything that we do, and that we here, we know that you have us and that you will always be there for us. We pray that you stay with these boys and girls, that you allow them to share their love with their family members with their friends, and that they can understand, Lord, that your love is greater than anything else. We pray this in Jesus name. Amen.

Thank you boys and girls have a wonderful week.
