My Rock and Fortress
Ethan Morales

Morning boys and girls, happy Sabbath. Welcome back to Ethan’s storytelling Corner. Today, we have an exciting children’s story for you. So let’s just go ahead and jump into it.

So today we’re going to open our Bibles to Psalms 18:2, where it says, The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my Savior. My God is my rock in whom I find protection, he is my shield, the power that saves me in my place of safety. So for today’s illustration, we’re gonna need three things. We’re gonna need a ruler, just a wooden or plastic ruler, whatever you have lying around, we’re gonna need a not necessarily a bouncy ball, I’m using a bouncy ball, but you can use a heavy object or maybe other bigger type of ball there. And lastly, a piece of paper, and plain white sheet of paper, I feel like this is just become a staple in my story. So from here on out, just assume all stories I have will involve white sheet of paper. So let’s go ahead and jump into our illustration.

Alright, boys and girls. So we’re going to set up our illustration today. It’s very simple. We’re just going to have our ruler right here. We’re going to take our bouncy ball, and we’re going to drop it on the ruler, and we’re going to see what happens. So when we drop it, boom, okay, the ruler falls off, and we can see that again. Okay? Now, what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna say that this ball right here is the challenges of life. As always, as my illustrations always go. This ruler will be us. And this paper, this random sheet of paper will be God. So we saw what happens when challenges come in our life, the ruler, and we don’t have God in our life. However, when we have God is our protective shield. We’ll see that when challenges come our way, they’re not going to be as drastic. So if I dropped the ball now, nothing happens. It’s solid. Alright. And we can see that. That it keeps staying solid over and over and over. And we can see there’s nothing… I can show you right here. There’s no tape, there’s nothing on the ruler. It’s all smooth. The papers all clean. There’s no stickiness on there. So we’ll see. Without God, boom, you tumble with God, we can see that we are solid.

Alright boys and girls. So I hope that today’s illustration today’s children’s story helps you realize that you can count on God as your protection and as your place of safety. Let us go ahead and close out with a word of prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you God for another day of life. I ask that you please be with these children. May you guide their hearts, protect their minds and be with their parents, Lord, may You give them a double dose of Your Holy Spirit Lord so that they may exemplify your character wherever they go, Lord, please let us have a Happy Sabbath and a good rest upcoming week, Lord, we ask all these things they mean Jesus Christ, amen.

Thank you boys and girls. See you next time here on Ethan’s storytelling corner
