Good morning boys and girls, happy Sabbath, welcome to church. It is now time for children’s stories so we’re going to open our Bibles.

Today we’re going to open it to 1 John chapter 1 verse 9 where it says, But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

So to illustrate that today boys and girls, we’re going to attribute, you know, our day to day life with this paper. And as we go about our day and our life, we’re gonna start writing on it. So we’ll just type hello. Hello. All right. We’ll start. Blah, blah, blah.

And as life goes on, sometimes we’re going to make a mistake. We’re going to, I don’t know, we’re going to lie. We’re going to say something we shouldn’t have said. So we’re just going to, oh, no, you know, we made a mistake. When in reality, that should have been something better.

So what are we going to do as humans? Our natural tendency is going to try and cover it up, right? Oh, no, let me cover it up. But that ends up making it worse. So the good news in the gospel is all about Jesus coming down. and forgiving us of that so that we don’t always have to live with these mistakes.

So we’ll see here with the eraser, we come in, he’s going to come and wipe the slate clean. Although the slate has been wiped clean and God has forgiven us, you can still kind of see the pencil marks. That’s just the natural consequences of the mistakes we made. Sometimes although you did lie and Jesus forgave you, you know, it may take a while for your friends or for your family to forgive you, right? And that’s not always going to be easy. So although in the eyes of God, we are free, we still have to suffer the consequences.

So boys and girls always remember when we mess up, we go to God for forgiveness and through him, we no longer have to live with that guilt. We can accept him and not have to burden ourselves with those mistakes. All right. Let’s close out with prayer.

Heavenly Father, Lord, thank you God for another day of life. Thank you for these boys and girls. I just ask that you continue to be with them, guide and protect them. may you turn the hearts of the family towards you Lord so that these children may ultimately be pointed towards you Lord. Please forgive us of our sins and we thank you again for another Sabbath day. We ask all these things in your name. Amen.

Alright boys and girls, happy Sabbath. We’ll see you next time.
