Faith in Action
by Ethan Morales-Vierna
Happy Sabbath boys and girls. Hope you guys had a fantastic Fourth of July. lot of good fireworks. Hopefully your dogs didn’t get scared. yeah, happy belated Fourth of July.
Today for our children’s story, we’re gonna, oh, you guessed it, jump into our handy dandy Bible. So today we’re gonna turn to Matthew chapter 17 verse 20, where it says, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for you.
And to illustrate that today, boys and girls, here I have not water, it’s not water. That’d be pretty gross if you drink this, it’s vinegar. All right. I’m sure some of you like salts and vinegar chips, vinegar, this is what it is. So this represents us [bowl of vinegar], right? Kind of boring, not really going on. Sometimes we feel a little stuck. We don’t really know where to go, right?
Well, just as the Bible says, we have a little bit of faith. If we have a little bit of faith, like this [spoonful of baking powder], don’t even know if you guys can see that. Can you see it? I don’t know. We’ll find out. And if we throw faith into our, whoa, into our life, God’s going to start doing his thing, right? That was just a little bit. What happens if we start throwing more? Whoa, what happens if we throw a whole bunch? Whoa. We have so much faith that we’re overflowing. All right.
And that’s how it works, boys and girls. When we don’t have faith, God doesn’t have room to work. He can’t do His thing. But as you saw right now, even with just a little bit of that faith, God starts doing His thing. He starts taking you places you never thought were possible. You start doing things you never thought was possible. And so, boys and girls, as you go on in life, there’s going be moments where you feel stuck, where you don’t know what to do, you don’t know where to go. Continue relying on God. Let your faith continue to strengthen itself so that God can ultimately do his thing and guide you on the path so that he can ultimately activate his good works. All right, let’s go ahead and pray and we’ll close out.
Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, thank you God so much for another day of life, for another Sabbath day, Lord, to be able to come and worship you, I ask right now, Lord, that you be with these children. May you guide and protect them. May you guide and protect their families. May you point their families towards you, Lord, so that the kids may ultimately be drawn to you. Please forgive us of our sins. May we have a great rest of the service and may you please keep us safe this upcoming week. We love you and we thank you. On your name. Amen.
All right, boys and girls, happy Sabbath and we’ll see you next week. Goodbye.
