Eternal Purpose
by Ethan Morales

Good morning, boys and girls happy Sabbath. I hope you guys had a good week. Let’s just go ahead and jump right into our story for today.

So for today’s story, we’re going to be taking a look at Mark chapter 8, verse 35, where it says, If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give your life for the sake of the good news, you will save. Now, what does that mean? Well, as it says, when we devote our life to God, and particularly to the good news that the gospel has to proclaim, you will live a very fruitful life. But what does that mean? Well, boys and girls, if you want to live a very fulfilled and happy life, that essentially means just being in service to others, allowing God to bless people through you. So we all have a purpose, and we all have a calling. But what happens when you try to stray away from that when you’re like, No, no, no, I know what I want. And I can do it better.

Well, to illustrate that today, we have three utensils here. We have a spoon, a fork, and a knife. Now what happens? When we try? What is the knife good for? Let’s start with that. It’s good for cutting, you know, when you want to cut meat, I mean, we’re SDA. So when we try to cut our veggie meat, but if you try to, what I’m saying is, this knife has a very particular use. Now in front of me, you can see that there’s two bowls, one has water one has no water. How long do you think it would take for me to move water from this bowl into here with a knife? It would take pretty long enough. I don’t want to stay here forever, for the sake of the story. So we’ll move on to the next utensil. We know that the knife is no good. How about a fork or fork be any better? Let’s see. No, not really about the same. But what happens when we use the spoon? is you can see boys and girls were able to get more water. And why is that? Because the spoon has a purpose. purpose is to be able to scoop things up more easily than the others. And just like the spoon boys and girls, we have a purpose to in God’s master plan. So let us continue to ask him to give us his spirit so that we can exemplify his character and allow him to bless other people through us. Alright, let’s go ahead and pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you God for another day of life is that you please be with these children, with their parents and anyone who may have influence over them. May you guide and protect all these parties, Lord, may You continue to guide them along your master plan. Lord right now I ask that you please forgive us. Our sins. mean you cleanse our spirit and give us a double dose of your Holy Spirit. We ask all these things Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thank you boys and girls and I will see you in the next children’s story.
