Keeping God as Your Center
Ethan Morales

Good morning boys and girls, happy Sabbath. Hope you guys are having a good summer break. I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve given my story, so I’m excited to be back to be sharing today’s children’s story with you.

So as always, let’s start with our Bible. Today, we’re gonna be taking a look at Proverbs chapter 29, verse 25, where it says, the fear of men will prove to be a snare. but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. All right, so pretty self-explanatory Bible verse. Those who trust God and seek him first will be safe.

So for today’s illustration, we have this bucket. Now, I don’t know if you guys can see it, but there is water in this. Alright, hope you guys can hear that. If I were to pour the bucket over my head right now, it would be wet, the carpet would get wet, everything would be wet, that would be no fun. Right?

So, but there is a way to keep the water in the bucket while, you know, keeping it around. I’m gonna demonstrate that for you guys. So, on the count of three, right? One, two, three. Ooh, ooh, I hear it. We’re good, you can see. the water is not falling. Why? Because we’re keeping it centered. The centripetal force is so strong that it’s keeping the water in the bucket even as it’s going over my head. I just hit something, so I’m gonna stop. But I didn’t break anything, so don’t worry. Yeah, we’re good, we’re good, we’re good.

So we can see as I was spinning my arm, it was centered right here on my shoulder. Oh, I’m gonna stop it. Okay, as I was spinning it, it was staying here, centered on my shoulder. And that’s just how it is with God, boys and girls. If you keep your life centered, if you keep God as your center, no matter how scary or turbulent life may get, you will always have God right there next to you. And although you will be scared, it will be scary, there will be uncertainty, there will be doubt. Know that you are never alone, and at the end of it, you will prevail all because of God.

Alright boys and girls, let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you God so much for allowing us to come here another day, Lord, to worship you and to fellowship with one another, Lord. Lord, I just ask right now that you please keep us. allow us to keep you at the center of our lives, Lord. Life is scary, we don’t know what’s coming sometimes, Lord, but we know that if we have you at the center of our lives, everything will turn out just right. All right, Lord. So be with us, forgive us of our sins, Lord, and may we continue to seek you out as a friend and as our savior. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

All right, boys and girls, happy Sabbath, and we’ll see you next time.
