Good morning boys and girls Happy Sabbath. I hope you guys had a fantastic week and are having a fun weekend.
So today for our story, we’re going to be starting off in our Bible. We’re going to be opening up to Matthew chapter five, verse 13, where it says, You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? If not, it will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
Now, boys and girls, God has called us to be salt of the earth. What does that mean? Well, in ancient times back before refrigerators, people would use salt. In order to help keep things fresh, they would cover meat in it so that we wouldn’t rock. But it would also add it add some flavor to it some a good flavor. And God is calling us to be salt in the sense that he wants us to preserve one and two to add flavor to people’s lives through Christ. The beautiful thing about that is, as Christians, we’re called to be a blessing to other people not be a hindrance.
So to illustrate that today, boys and girls, I have this egg in one water cup here, I have salt, the other I have nothing just pure water. Now, we’re going to dump the egg first in just the cup full of water. We’ll see what happens. All sunk, right. No good, no good. So that’s fish the egg out. Dry it off a bit. And now we’re going to put it in the saltwater and we’re going to see what happens. All right. Oh. Ah, we can see that it floats. So boys and girls, this goes to show that not only are we called to be salt, but we’re also called to point people towards God. And when we do that, we end up lifting people up not through ourselves, but through God. Alright, man, you guys remember that moving forward? I mean, you guys continue to be salt for your family and friends.
Let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for another day of life floored to be able to come here worship you and to spend time with our family, friends and loved ones, Lord. Right now God, I asked for the forgiveness of our sins. May you please forgive any iniquities we’ve committed against you, or against our fellow human beings or we just ask that you continue to protect and bless us, ourselves and our family, Lord, as well as be with the adults and caretakers of the children. Lord, may you continue to guide and protect them. You give them a double dose of your Holy Spirit. Amen.
Ok boys and girls hope you guys enjoyed the story and we’ll see you next time.
