Words Are Important
by Ethan Morales
Morning boys and girls Happy Sabbath. Hope you guys had a good Christmas. And hopefully you guys are excited for this new upcoming year.
In today story, we’re going to go ahead and take a look at James three, verses three and five, where it says we can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. And a small rudder makes a huge ship, turn wherever the pilot chooses to go. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches.
Now what essentially this verse is saying that these verses is that when we speak, there’s power in those words, regardless of what we’re saying, we use our words to build other people up. For example, in First Thessalonians, chapter five, verse 11, it says that, it tells us to build each other up for the honor and glory of God. However, sometimes, since we are human, you know, we get a little angry, we get a little frustrated, and we say things are hurtful to other people. And God doesn’t want that for us, boys and girls.
So in order to illustrate that, I have this, this piece of paper right here. So this is, you know, your friend’s day, or your mom or your parent’s days. You know, before you say something mean, however, when you say something mean, and you don’t really think about what you’re saying, you could say something really hurt. And even though you say I’m sorry. And you know, you realize what you did was wrong. There’s really no going back from that. Because now this paper, you can see here, it’s pretty crumpled up. And no matter how hard we try, we’re not going to be able to get it back to the way it was before it was all nice and smooth.
So boys and girls, I challenge you before you say something mean, or regardless, you know, I challenge you to think about what you’re going to say, before you speak asking God to give you the Holy Spirit so that your words can build each other up, not tear other people down.
Alright, let us pray. Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, thank you God for another day of life. Lord, thank you for another Sabbath. Lord right now I just want to thank you for the rain you’ve been giving us even though we’re not able to play outside or do everything that we we want to do or we thank you for that. Because we know here, especially in California, we need more than every Lord. So we thank you for that. Also ask for that you please be with these children. May you continue to guide and protect them. Give them a double dose of your Holy Spirit, as well as the as well as the parents of these kids or guardians. Lord, I ask that you please forgive us of our sins. And we ask all these things, the name of your precious Son, Jesus Christ, amen.
Bye boys and girls. I will see you guys next time.
